This is a list of all RSPO certificates granted to palm oil producers and suppliers as of 1st November 2009, which also includes information about the plantation area which has been certified. CHRONOLOGICAL LIST OF CERTIFICATES AND APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFICATES:
+ Johor Corporation (JCorp) has commissioned BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify three palm oil mills and ten plantations in Johor under the RSPO. The assessment will commence in December 2009.
+ PT Sahabat Mewah dan Makmur has commissioned TÜV NORD Indonesia to assess and certify one palm oil mill and five plantations in East Belitung, Indonesia (Belitung Province comprises islands off the coast of Sumatra). The assessment will commence in December 2009.
+ Higaturu Oil Palms, a subsidiary of CTP Holdings Pte Ltd (in turn a subsidiary of Cargill) has applied to BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify all of their three palm oil mills and four plantations in Oro Province, PNG under the RSPO. The assessment will commence in November 2009.
+ ADM’s Noblee & Thoerl GmbH of Germany obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in October 2009. This is an RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Mewah Group’s Ngo Chew Hong Oils & Fats obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in October 2009. This is an RSPO Supply chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Wilmar International has commissioned TÜV Rheinland Malaysia to assess and certify one of their holdings, PT Perkebunan Milano, in North Sumatera under the RSPO. The assessment will commence in November 2009 and will cover one palm oil mill and three palm oil estates.
+ United Plantations Berhad’s Unitata Berhad obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in October 2009. This is an RSPO Supply Chain Certification (Segregation Supply Chain option).
+ ADM Societe Industrielle des Oleagineux (SIO) of France and ADM International Sarl of Switzerland obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in September 2009. This is an RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ The Indonesian plantation company PT Ivo Mas Tunggal has commissioned CUC to assess and certify 7 palm oil mills in Riau. They hope to have all their plantations certified by 2011. The assessment will commence in October 2009. +Sime Darby Plantations Sdn Bhd’s Unimills BV and CleanerG BV obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in September 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Wilmar International has commissioned TÜV Rheinland Malaysia to assess and certify their subsidiary PT Mustika Sembuluh under the RSPO. The assessment will commence in October 2009 and cover one palm oil mill and three oil palm estates in Central Kalimantan.
+ Mewah Group’s Mewaholeo Industries Sdn. Bhd. and Moifoods Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in September 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ FELDA (who describe themselves as a Malaysian Agency for Smallholders) in Malaysia has commissioned CUC to assess and certify seven palm oil estates and two palm oil mills in Pahang under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in September 2009.
+IOI Loders Croklaan of the Netherlands obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in September 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Poliamba, a subsidiary of CTP Holdings Pte Ltd (in turn a subsidiary of Cargill) in Malaysia has commissioned BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify four palm oil estates and one palm oil mills in New Ireland, PNG under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in September 2009. CTP Holdings owns plantations in Indonesia and PNG (Higaturu Oil Palms, Milne Bay Estates, Poliamba Ltd). They hope to have all their production RSPO certified by the end of 2009.
+ PPB Oil Palms Bhd (Ribubonus and Terusan) has commissioned SIRIM QAS to assess and certify two of their units in Beluran District, Sabah. The assessment was to commence in October 2009. In December 2008, PPOPB got RSPO certification for four estates and three palm oil mills in Sabah. In November 2008, another five estates and four palm oil mills were assessed; however no decision has been made about those as yet. No application has been made so far for one palm oil mill in Sarawak, because PPOPB only owns 37.1% of shares in it.
+ IOI Corporation Bhd has commissioned SGS Malaysia Sdn Bhd to assess and certify one palm oil mill and four plantations in Kunak and Lahad Datu, Sabah. They hope to have all their holdings in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah certified by 2011. The assessment was to commence in September 2009.
+ PT Musim Mas’ Belawan and Batam Refineries in Indonesia obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in July 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Wilmar International’s Sapi POM, Sabahmas POM, Sandakan Edible Oils Sdn Bhd, Lahad Datu Edible Oils Sdn Bhd and PT. Wilmar Bioenergi Indonesia obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in July 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ IOI Corporation Bhd has commissioned SGS Malaysia Sdn Bhd to assess and certify one palm oil mill and 11 plantations in Batu Anam, Johor. They hope to have all their holdings in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah certified by 2011. The assessment was to commence in August 2009.
+ In June, PT PP Lonsum in Indonesia was awarded an RSPO certificate following an assessment by TÜV Nord Indonesia (subsidiary of the TÜV Nord Group in Germany) in respect of four palm oil mills processing palm nuts from 12 company-owned plantations, all in North Sumatera (preliminary announcement in April). The company commits to having its remaining seven palm oil mills and associated plantations certified between Dec 2010 and Dec 2015. They are planning to set up a palm oil mill in East Kalimantan. 2 major and 4 minor nonconformities had been identified but later found to have been corrected.42,487 hectares are covered by the certificate.
+ Mewah Oils Sdn Bhd in Malaysia obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in June 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain and segregated supply chain options).
+ IOI Edible Oils Sdn Bhd in Malaysia obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in June 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain and segregated supply chain options).
+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned BSI Management Systems to assess and certify one palm oil mill and 11 plantations in Batu Anam, Johor. They hope to have all their holdings in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah certified by 2011. The assessment was to commence in June 2009.
+ PT Perkebunan Nusantara III, Sei Mengke Palm Oil Mill (POM) has commissioned TÜV Rheinland Malaysia to assess and certify under the RSPO one palm oil mill and five plantations in Simalungun District and Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatera. The assessment was to have commenced in June 2009. Overall, the company owns 11 palm oil mills and 34 estates in North Sumatera.
+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned CUC to assess and certify 26 plantations in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Sarawak under the RSPO The assessment was to commence in June 2009.
+ Milne Bay Estates, a subsidiary of CTP Holdings Pte Ltd (subsidiary of Cargill) has commissioned BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify Milne Bay Estates with five plantations and smallholders. The assessment was to commence in June 2009. CTP Holdings Pte Ltd own to plantation companies in Indonesia (PT Hindoli and PT Harapan Sawit Lestari) and three in PNG (Higaturu Oil Palms, Milne Bay Estates and Poliamba). They hope to have all their production RSPO certified by the end of 2009.
+ PT Agrowiratama has commissioned CUC to assess and certify the PT Agrowiratama and KKPA Agrowiratama plantations and mill in West Sumatra under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in June 2009.
+ PT Berkat Sawit Sejati has commissioned CUC to assess and certify the Berkat Sawit Sejati (Sei Tungkal and Sei Berau) plantations and mill in South Sumatra under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in June 2009.
+ In April 2009, Hargy Oil Palm Limited (HOPL) in PNG was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by BSi Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd. This covers two palm oil mills and three estates (6,677 hectares), plus production by smallholders (14,701 hectares), all in West New Britain. A total of 21,378 hectares has thus been certified. HOPL is fully owned by SIPEF NV Group of Belgium. The company also owns PT Tolan Tiga in North Sumatra, PT Agro Muko in Bengkulu, Sumatra, PT Umbul Mas Wisesa (with plantation expansion) and PT Melania in South Sumatra and four palm oil mills. They plan to have all their majority-owned Indonesian production certified within three years of the HOPL production being certified. During the assessment, five major non-conformities, 16 minor non-conformities and eleven observations/opportunities for improvement were found. The major non-conformities were found to have been resolved and, in respect of the minor ones, a corrective action plan was agreed. Paraquat is used ‘selectively’.
+ Neste Oil in Finland obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in April 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance supply chain option).
+ Minamas Plantation has commissioned PT Mutuagung Lestari to assess and certify their two estates and one palm oil mill with PT Indotruba Tengah Plantations in Kalimantan under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in May 2009. PT Minamas Gemilang and PT Anugerah Sumber Makmur manage Sime Darby Plantation Operations in Indonesia and are collectively called Plantation Upstream Indonesia. Minamas owns 23 palm oil mills and 69 plantations throughout Indonesia and hopes to achieve RSPO certification for all their production by the end of 2012.
+ Carotino Sdn Bhd has commissioned SGS Malaysia Sdn Bhd to assess and certify their five oil palm plantations and one palm oil mill in Pahang, Malaysia under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in May 2009. Carotino is part of the JC Chang Group. JC Change Group own plantations in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah as well as four palm oil mills.

+ PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Kisaran Unit has commissioned TÜV Rheinland Malaysia Sdn. Bhd to assess and certify one palm oil mill and five plantations in North Sumatera under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in May 2009.

+ Sime Darby Plantations Sdn Bhd has commissioned CUC to assess and certify four palm oil mills and 19 plantations in Pahang, Johor and Negeri Sembilan under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in May 2009.

+ Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, a Malaysian Plantations Company, has commissioned CUC to assess and certify three palm oil mills and seven plantations in Sabah under the RSPO. The assessment was to commence in May 2009. KLK Bhd own and operate 20 palm oil mills and 76 estates in Malaysia an Indonesia.

+ UniMills BV in the Netherlands obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in March 2009. This is under the RSPO Supply Chain Certification (mass balance and segregated supply chain options).

+ Sime Darby has commissioned BSI (S) to assess and certify their Segaliud Palm Oil Mill and Jeleta Bumi Palm Oil Mill and associated plantations in Sabah under the RSPO. The assessment was to have commenced in April 2009.

+ In February 2009, PT Hindoli in Indonesia was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by BSi Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd. This covers two palm oil mills and three estates in South Sumatra. Hindoli is a subsidiary of CTP Holdings which is a subsidiary of Cargill. Two minor nonconformities and eleven observations/opportunities for improvement were identified and a plan for corrective action has been agreed. 9,555 hectares have been certified.

+ AAK UK Ltd’s King George Dock, Hull in the UK obtained interim RSPO approval, based on self-assessment, in February 2009.

+ In February 2009, IOI Corporation Bhd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by SGS (Malaysia) Bhd. in respect of the Pamol Sabah Mill and six associated plantations (Pamol Sabah Estates). 1 major and 19 minor corrective action requests were made. Of those, 13 minor corrective action requests remain and a corrective action plan has been agreed. The certificate covers 11,004 hectares.

+ In February 2009, PPB Oil Palms were awarded an RSPO producers certificate by Control Union Certifications in respect of three palm oil mills and their supply base, three estates, all in Sabah. PPBOP has merged with Wilmar International. 10 minor non-conformities were identified and remain outstanding. The certificate covers 15,089 hectares.

+ In February 2009, PT Musim Mas was awarded an RSPO certificate by Control Union Certifications in respect of two palm oil mills and six plantations in Riau, Sumatra. Two minor non-conformities were identified and remain outstanding and there is an ongoing land conflict with Kusuma villagers. The certificate covers 23,917 hectares, a lot of is on peatlands.

+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned Moody International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to assess and certify their SOU Gunung Mas unit in Johor under the RSPO. This comprises one palm oil mill and three plantations. The assessment was to have commenced in February 2009.

+ IOI has commissioned BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify their Pamol Kluang oil mill and the six plantations supplying it under the RSPO. The assessment was to have commenced in March 2009.

+ In January 2009, Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by BSi in respect of three palm oil mills and their supply base, 13 plantations, all in Johor. Three minor nonconformities were identified and remain outstanding. The certificate covers 27,021 hectares.

+ In January 2009, Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by Sirim Quas International in respect of four palm oil mills and their supply base, nine plantations in Sabah. Four separate assessments found a total of 24 major conformities and 23 minor nonconformities, with multiple counting where conformities applied to several plantations. Those have all been closed, but there will be a review. The certificate covers 6,523 hectares.

+ Sime Darby Plantations Sdn Bhs has commissioned CUC to assess and certify three palm oil mills and nine plantations, in Johor, Malaka and Perak (Peninsular Malaysia). The assessment was to have commenced in February 2009.

+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned BSI Management Systems Singapore Pte Ltd to assess and certify three palm oil mills and supply base under the RSPO, all in Selangor. The assessment was to have commenced in January 2009.

+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned SGS Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SGS Qualipalm) to assess and certify two palm oil mills and nine plantations under the RSPO, all in Johor. The assessment was to have commenced in December 2008.

+ PPB Oil Palms Bhd has commissioned SIRIM QAS to assess and certify two palm oil mills and five plantations under the RSPO, all in Sarawak. The assessment was to have commenced in November 2008.

+ IOI has commissioned BSI Management Systems to assess and certify one palm oil mill and three plantations under the RSPO, all in Sabah. The assessment was to have commenced in November 2008.

+ In October 2008, Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by BSI Management Systems in respect of one palm oil mill and four plantations in Sabah. Two minor nonconformities and ten observations /opportunities for improvement were identified and a Corrective Action Plan was agreed. The certificate covers 11,966 hectares.

+ Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd has commissioned BSI Management Systems to assess and certify one palm oil mill and its supply base, two plantations and palm oil from smallholders, in West Kalimantan. The assessment was to have commenced in October 2008.

+ In September 2008, New Britain Palm Oil Ltd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by BSI Management Systems in respect of four palm oil mills and twelve plantations as well as ten ‘mini estates’ and some palm oil from smallholders in West New Britain. Three major and seven minor nonconformities as well as 15 observations/opportunities for improvement were identified and a Corrective Action Plan was agreed, after closure of a number of nonconformities, including all major ones. The certificate covers 28,485 hectares.

+ In August 2008, United Plantations Bhd was awarded an RSPO producers certificate by CUC in respect of six palm oil mills and nine plantations in Perak and Selangor, Peninsular Malaysia. Three minor nonconformities were identified and a Corrective Action Plan was agreed. The certificate covers 45,703 hectares.

+ Kulumpang Development Corporation Sdn Bhd has commissioned CUC to assess and certify two palm oil mills and eight plantations under the RSPO, all of them in Sabah. The assessment was to have commenced in August 2008.

+ C.I. Tequendama S.A. has commissioned CUC to assess and certify one palm oil mill and eight plantations in Cesar and Magdalena under the RSPO. The assessment was to have commenced in July 2008.

+ Sime Darby has commissioned Sirim Quas to assess and certify three palm oil mills and eleven plantations in Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka under the RSPO. The assessment was to have commenced in June 2008.
