The report is based on an analysis of industry responses to the EU consultation on the Biofuels Directive. It shows that the majority of the biofuel industry mention no concerns over possible impacts on deforestation or biodiversity, and that most of them do not support any government regulation to ensure even basic environmental safeguards in future.
