40 years of action: a visual history
Boycotts of tropical timber and resistance to the palm oil boom, GPS data and Indigenous rights in defense of forests – a great deal has happened in the 40 years since Rainforest Rescue was founded. We dug through our archive for photographs that mark milestones in our organization’s history.
It’s quite an archive: Our photo library holds 4,719 images, and new ones arrive every day. Tens of thousands more are stored on our computers and hard drives, and there are probably slides tucked away somewhere, too.
Several team members sifted through this treasure trove, selecting 58 images that represent milestones in our organization’s history. They also reviewed some 160 covers of the “Regenwald Report,” our German print magazine.
